Original owner information requested :

I am looking for the original owners name for, 1966 Austin Healey 3000 MK III . The VIN is : HBJ8L/31535 . This car was sold, by the original owner, to " Sports Cars by Don Wylie ", in Grand Rapids, Mi, at his dealership on South Division. The date would have been around 1/10/1967 to 1/23/1967. Thanks for any info and Happy Healeying :)

That's a real shot in the dark, since you bought it as the second owner on 23 Jan 67. As you know, the original owner was a TV producer who bought it in England and left it here when he returned home to take possession of a "new" 1967 BJ8. Unless he is a really avid BJ8 owner now, it isn't likely he is going to be reading this AHCA forum. But I wish you luck, and if I find out who he was I'll let you know.

Looking for original owner

I just happened to see this post again and have some additional words of wisdom for anyone who is interested in the previous history of their car: be sure you get your ownership of your car and what you know about its history into the appropriate model registry!!!!!
Most owners of classic vehicles are very interested in the history of their car but there are precious few resources available now to allow anyone to know who owned their car before them. The issue of "privacy" has put most of what might still be available out of reach to current owners. Whatever you know about the history of your car should not disappear with you!!!! Do a favor for future owners who will also be interested in who owned their car before them, and perhaps want to try to get in touch with you and former owners for more information about you/their time with the car (interesting experiences, significant repairs/modifications, what you/they know about the history of the car before they acquired it, whatever). You may pass along documentation and knowledge concerning the history of the car to the next owner, but he/she may have no particular interest in that and fail to pass it on to whoever they sell to. The link is then broken and the knowledge is lost to later owners. The record needs to be documented somewhere, and the only place to do it is the model registry. Do it now!
