AHCA clubs made Caravan for Kids a success!

At Conclave 2008 in San Diego, California, the Club raised funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation through the Austin-Healey Club of America Cross Country Caravan for Kids. The Club presented a mock check for $16,001 on July 1, 2008, during the popularity car show at the Conclave. Fundraising efforts by AHCA Clubs continued for the rest of that year, eventually bringing in just over $16,565 for Make-A-Wish.

Thanks again to members of the 16 regional Clubs across the U.S. and Canada who generously supported the effort to benefit children facing life-threatening medical conditions.

DMH Memorial Fund: Remembering a friend

The Donald M. Healey Memorial Fund was established in 1991 to “remember a friend” — Donald Mitchell Healey CBE (1898 to 1988). Initiated by the AHCA, Austin-Healey Clubs and individuals from around the world contributed to the Fund, which in 1993 provided for the creation and installation of a memorial stained-glass window in St. Michael’s Church in Perranporth, Cornwall, England, Healey’s home.

The Fund also mounted a photographic display at Callestock Cyder Farm in Cornwall, owned by David Healey, a grandson of Donald M. Healey. The DMH Motoring Legend display provides a timeline of Healey’s life and achievements and serves to educate the thousands of visitors to the Cyder Farm about his life and accomplishments. 

The Fund is ongoing and currently provides grants to deserving students in the Cornwall area. Over the past decade or so, a number of students have applied for and received grants for further education and/or special projects. 

The DMH Memorial Fund provides a meaningful way for individuals and/or clubs to remember a club member or loved one who has passed away.

If the contribution is in memory of a person, please include the following:

  • Name of deceased
  • Name and address of a family member to whom a letter of acknowledgement will be sent
