1963 Austin Healey 3000 BJ7 MK II Convertible

SOLD 1963 Austin Healey 3000 BJ7 MK II Convertible

An attractive big Healey that always has been garaged and is in excellent mechanical condition. It’s Colorado red paint overall is very good with only a couple of minor flaws. All lights, gauges and overdrive work. Comes with top and tonneau covers and a British Heritage Certificate.

Carefully maintained by me and its previous owner, John Saccameno, who owns and operates Sport and Specialty, a well known and highly regarded Austin Healey restorer in northern Illinois. It was his personal car for 23 years until he sold it to me roughly 3 years ago.

Sport and Specialty rebuilt the engine, including new pistons. Additional work done includes the following:

- transmission rebuild, front to back.
- carburetor rebuild with a complete distributor update.
- new oversized aluminum radiator.
-replaced the oil and water pumps.
- new clutch.
-new wiring harness.
-new interior, including Kool mats.
-rebuilt generator and starter.
-replaced the voltage regulator.
-equipped the car with new wire wheels and tires.
-installed new rear bearing seals and universal joints.

John put only 1,500 miles on the car after all his work and I have put roughly 4,000 miles on the car since buying it. The car is a strong, good-looking runner that’s a lot of fun to drive.

Asking price is $47,500 or best reasonable offer.
