This 1966 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII is an excellent driver’s car. It runs strong and everything
works except the self-canceling mechanism for left hand turns. According to the British Motor
Industry Heritage Trust certificate it was manufactured in October 1965. It was sold as new in
May 1966 to a military officer in Wichita Falls, TX. In 1976 at 96K miles it underwent a body and
mechanical restoration. At that time the color was changed from Ivory White to Metallic
Golden Beige. The frame and engine bay were not repainted, but coated with a nonhardening,
black rust proofing material. The carpets have been replaced but the rest of the interior
appears to be original. “Modern” improvements include a Pertronix ignition, spin-on oil filter,
Dayton chrome wire wheels in 2003, new Vredestein tires in 2023, LED dash lights, electronic
(no points) SU fuel pump, and an English Bell stainless steel exhaust. I have maintenance and
parts records back to 2002 and a few photographs of the restoration.
I have owned the car approximately 5 years and driven it ~2000 miles. The odometer currently
reads 09410 which I believe represents 109410 miles. Tinkering with cars has been a lifelong
hobby, but age and arthritis (especially in my hands) tell me the time has come to move on. It
deserves a good home!
Price: $45000
